Summertime is upon us, as we enjoy some of the longest days of the year. As always, wishing you and yours a few months filled with adventures, lazy days and time together.
We can also start thinking about the 2018 Yukon Jack, which will take place the first weekend in October in lovely Glenbrook, Nevada - Thursday, October 4 through Sunday, October 7.
Once again, we will take to the shores of Glenbrook Bay and Lake Tahoe, or as the Washoe Indians called it, "Da' 'aw", meaning "The Lake". Deep people, those Washoe!
In a startling break from the usual YJ tradition of waiting until a week out to name the golf course we will be playing, I am proud to announce this year's track will be a return to the Beast from the East...well, a little to the East. Take your vitamins, kids...in 2018, we're heading back to Clear Creek Tahoe.
For those of you who haven't played it, or played it and blocked out all memories of this Bataan Death March disguised as a golf course, here's the here's a link to the web page that will give you the blow-by-blow...uhhhh...hole-by-hole description.
In all seriousness, this is an outstanding course, great views and a lot of fun! Many, many thanks to the Pehanicks, Joe and George, for making these arrangements. Green fees will be an insanely reasonable $80, and we tee starting at 10a on Saturday, which should get us back to the house mid-afternoon, and hopefully in plenty of time for the Cal/Arizona game, at Tucson.
Also, the practice facilities are some of the nicest in the area, so if you want to head over early to get a few swings in, let's do it!
This note is meant to be a "Save the Date", but if you know now if you're IN like Patrick Laird or OUT like Demetris Robertson (too soon?), please feel free to send along. Never too early to start planning!
Again, hope this finds you and your families doing well. Can't wait to sit on the deck, have a couple drinks and catch up. I can taste the Wet Woodies now! Have a great summer, and we'll talk again soon!
